Finally, someone agrees with me (partially). Now there is a huge cap between Criss Devil (err....Angel) and David Blane. David only does those tricks that are simple...he doesn't walk down building, walk on glass, get run over my a steamroller, walk across screwdrivers, levitate over trees, ect.
Criss Angel has sold his soul to the devil in exchange for powers. He's cut himself in half, levitated from building to building and off a giant pyramid thing and over a tree, he's put a bottle through a table, he's disappeared in mid air, he's done all sorts of things--BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO DO ANY OF THOSE THINGS!!!
If it was possible, don't you think SOMEONE out there would know how to do that or figure out how to do it.

I wonder what would have happened if when he was all done, someone ran over and stomped on his toe?
Maybe this guy needs to get into the UFC. I'm sure none of the current champs can hit as hard as a steam roller.
It's just modern magic. I'm not sure what the trick is, but it really is cool to watch.
I did notice the steam roller never raised off the ground. Was there something not solid under the glass covered cloth? I really don't know what the trick is, but if these tricks were real then the goverments would be taking these guys in for observation.

1) If you stomp of his toe, he'll stomp on your house
2) If he was in UFC, I am 1,000,000,000,000% (1 trillion %) sure everyone else would quit.
3) I agree, watching the tricks are cool, but I really want to figure out how he does it.
4) I noticed the same thing...But would they cut out a piece asphalt JUST for 1 trick? That doesn't seem like it's worth it...

The guy is really awsome to watch. I don't want to ruin any of his tricks, so I won't post some of the tricks that I know how are done. If you really want to know, then do a search on the web. YouTube has several clips of his tricks and several clips of how they are done. If you look up how they are done, then I must warn you that it will take the fun out of watching them. This is why magicians do not like to reveal theit secrets. Who wants to come see a magic show if you can't be fooled? At the very least, don't look up ALL the answers. It's like watching the end of a movie and then trying to enjoy the movie later. Keep in mind that magicians use many types of tricks, and the more realistic they can make it the greater the impact.
As far as the hole in the asphalt; Asphalt is cheap and easily repaired. The money these guys are making will definetly make it worth while. I don't know that this is what was done, but from the tricks I do understand that is the choice I would go with.
I know a few magicians and I can tell you that getting them to talk about how they do their tricks is not very easy. Usually they only want to talk about the ones they started with.
Very high quality mirrors are used for lots of the illusions, and it can be very hard to catch them even when you know they are there. Also several actors are used and mingle with the crowd. These are usually the ones being the loudest or picked out to participate in the tricks. They are used to give the tricks more impact. Not everyone picked from a crowd is an actor, just the ones that have to participate in producing the trick. The rest can be ordinary people.
Has anyone seen the one were he cuts a woman into two pieces? That's my favorite one. I know how it's done, but the screaming still makes it have a creepy impact. I also like the part were the upper half screams and crawls away. Man is it really creepy!

That was pretty insane. I knew he didn't get really run over, I to assumed that there was a hidden trap door or something similar under the glass that his legs went down into and the steamroller rolled over it. I'm a big fan of magic. What Blaine does isn't magic in a way. He seems to be more into the "survival" type stuff.

It's an ILLUSION! He can't really walk through walls and glass nor can he really levitate...it's for pure entertainment.
If he can walk through glass then why does he need a sheet up in front of the glass? Why not just walk through glass?
If you lay the glass down right anyone can walk on it and anyone can jump on it. Notice the side glass that is standing up on end showing the sharp end up? He didn't walk on any of that stuff did he? No, ya know why? Because it's an illusion and it's designed so you're thrilled and entertained and make him rich. No one can levitate themselves because you would then have to be able to manipulate gravity and then also be able to somehow propel yourself through the air.
Blaine and Chris would both fit in well with the WWF because they are all fakes! The WWF puts on just as big of a show

I've figured out quite of a few of his tricks with 2 words--DIGITAL COMPOSITION. The combining of 2 video clips. Who's to say that the "crowd" isn't faking their "astonishment"?

That is also a possibility. I remember when Penn & Teller did their live show on NBC, at the end they took some trained divers out into the ocean and made a submarine disappear. And they showed the divers reactions and they were all acting like they were stunned and whatnot. This could be another one of those cases where the crowd was faking.
