Wishful thinking I'm afraid. Sad Hell, if Mac's would ever drop in price AND get more gaming support, I might consider it an option as well. I'm THAT tired of WinBlows.

Getting out my crystal ball, I'd be willing to bet that Ubuntu or some other linux distro goes mainstream before the MAC does. linux is really pushing hard to get acceptance and make installing / configuring more user friendly, and they are making some progress. They still have a LONG way to go before mom and pop start using it, but I could see it happening in a few years.

Apple on the other hand just won't accept that as long as they have a closed architecture and are 25-35% more expensive then the exact same capabilities in Windows (and 100% more expensive then linux) they are always going to be a nitch player. Steve Jobs has been a miracle for Apple, but mostly in the iPod / iPhone / iTouch arena. Macs are a great computer, and there is nobody more rabid then a Mac fanboy, however they hover around 6% of the market which is just what they had 10 years ago.

My hubby just bought a Mac and really likes it so far. He is not a PC gamer...more xbox/ps3 gamer.

He had vista installed and he didn't like it at all...then he went back to XP...then his laptop died. Confused

I wish it supported more games....it is a nice computer.

I've always had a secret lust for the Mac myself. My next laptop / second computer might be a Mac as well, I think they do laptops really well. Can't see going Mac for my main computing machine though. Too much invested in PC software, games and 20+ years of experience.

I hear ya Eagle, I actually really love Macs. The old Mac II and tiny monitor'ed all-in-one box mac was the first computer I ever used. Must have been 7th grade. Great computer for drafting and architecture (housing, bridges etc). Then I used a Tandy and really learned with that little rip-off bad boy.

My father works in the printing industry, and Macs are the leaders in visual, design, photo... etc. A PC just wont accomplish what they need. A PC really more or less handles their emails, networks etc.

At lowes we use Linux on everything, and they actually use Firefox as a platform for most of their applications. The install software for flooring jobs is written off Firefox... but doesn't resemble it at all. I really love working with it at work, and is by far more stable and cost effective. They really have some good people tweaking Linux and the applications. A lot of the Firefox usage is used to present the actual applications as well, but they run separate on a server. It's really a nice way of doing things... much like what Google Chrome is doing.

If it wasn't for gaming, I'd never use Wincraps.
