Video card |

Thanks for helping me out last night, Eagle and Fun! Unfortunately the solutions you came up with (cleaning the fans and the coolers to get the temperature down) did not work. I still see these strange triangles and colors in COD and UO. I guess my videocard is gone.
All other applications I tried, like Media Player, PPT, Word and Internet Explorer seem to be working fine.
Anybody any idea, before I buy a new videocard? Is there a test that I can run to see if it really my videocard? Thanks for helping me out!

Its called artifacting. Try rolling your drivers back to an older version. It use to happen to me with UT 2004.

what video card are you using? if it's an older one and is artifacting, just pick up a new one and enjoy the creamy graphics goodness.
artifacting can be from driver conflicts or if its a crappy card the heat could just be screwing things up. if it's old, well stuff oxidizes which creates problems.
the prices on cards has come down a lot... and it's something you can justify upgrading as you use it everyday.

It is a 4 year old ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. Its time is up!
I guess you are right 10K, replacing the videocard and upgrading the rest is the best thing to do.
