I just got off the phone with Gene and I think that under the circumstances he's doing great.

He has 12 cracks in his back and is really concerned about his test results. It turned out that there is still no trace of cancer, however his plateletts aren't regenerating at all. This is very dangerous and he has to be very carefull. If he gets cut or falls and gets internal bleeding, he could bleed to death.

PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM EVERYBODY, IT ONLY TAKES FEW SECONDS?

Secondly, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO GIVE HIM A CALL? I spoke to him and he would appreciate you calling him - if you know him or not. EVERY- LITTLE BIT OF SUPPORT HELPS HIM GET THROUGH THE DAY- So please, spare the man 5 minutes and 50 cents and give him a call at 386-740-8014

I don't know Scorpius personally, but I dropped him PM and him and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. I had an Aunt that fought cancer for over two years before losing the battle, Please think about donating to a cancer research organization. D.O.A.+SC+

I just called Gene at home. He spoke extensively about his condition and explained that things do not look that positive. Due to the medication against the seisure he had, his blood counts are down to a level where it is very hard to do a chemo therapy now.
I told him that we, here on the {uZa} forums, are thinking of him and praying for him. He said: "I hope you all pray for a miracle, 'cause that's what I need now!"

I'd say: let's give Gene that miracle, and pray for him!

A phonecall clearly gives him hope too! (+1) 386 740 8014.

I spoke with Gene (aka: {uZa}Scorpius) today. I have been praying for him, and had him on my mind for the past several days. I was a little hesitant, since I had never actually spoken to him before. I have seen him on a server occasionally, but never had a chance to talk. I’m glad I took the time to call him, he is a great guy. If attitude was all that he needed, he would be well on his way to recovery.

He currently is not able to access his PC, but stated he appreciates the PM’s, Posts, Phone Calls, and the +SC+ on peoples game names in the past. When one is fighting a battle like this, these little encouragements can be a great help. I’m not sure what God has planned for him, but I hope it is to raise him up to be a witness of God’s love and goodness. Let us continue to lift him up and ask God for a healing miracle.

Gene asked me to post the following request:

Gene is in need of some bone marrow, and currently has not found a match. He requested that everyone who is able, to go donate blood. While donating blood, ask if you can be checked to be a bone marrow donator. This is free if done when donating blood. If you go ask your doctor, it will cost a few hundred dollars. So he suggested they donate blood and get free answer. If you are able, you will be added to a national list and contacted if a match is found for a need. You would then be asked, and can say yes or no whenever and for whoever you want. It would be awesome if one of us could be a match for Gene, and be able to give him this gift.

Gene stated the process of being a bone marrow donor is very simple. Your blood is drawn thru a needle and platelets are removed, then blood goes back into you. The platelets are then used for the other person. I’m not sure I explained all this correct, but he did state it is a very easy thing to do. Considering he was on meds, I’m hearing impaired with a head cold, there may have been some miscommunication. I think I got all the facts correct. If this sounds like something you could do, please do.

Let’s continue to give him an encouragement. If it was you, you would know how much it is needed. Let’s try not to let him have to fight this alone. Give him a quick call, just to let him know you are thinking of him. Keep adding the +SC+ to our game names. Imagine his surprise, to get back on a server and see everyone with a +SC+. A little can go a long ways when it’s needed.
