Call of Duty 4 Announced |
|
|
From this short article
The Call of Duty series is notorious for being set in World War II, but Activision announced today that they are FINALLY bringing Call of Duty to the modern age. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be developed by the team who brought you the original Call of Duty & Call of Duty 2, Infinity Ward.
The only other bit of information given from Activision is to expect a “world-premier” video to show during the NFL Draft on ESPN at 10am PST/ 1pm EST.
Personally I'm happy to hear the move away from WWII. Hope this will be cool.

Call of Duty 3 is barely out the door and a Ampednews source has already revealed Call of Duty 4 is in development at Infinity Ward, the development team behind the first two Call of Duty games. Listed are the first details:
* Call of Duty 4 will be coming to the PC as well as consoles. Where as Call of Duty 3 is only available on consoles, as well as the PSP.
* It will be based on modern combat, taking place on the battlefields of present day Middle East.
* While most shooters have two or three critical points on the head, Call of Duty 4 has 16. You can shoot the side of an opponent’s helmet to make it spin on their head, or knock the helmet clean off. Supposedly you will even be able to shoot an enemy’s ear off.
* Multiplayer features matches with 54 players.
Sounds like this game will be less ping dependent. With 16 hit boxes on the head alone, registraion will become a lot better.

Hmmm. Never heard of it.
J/K. I've played that game along with the others and I just can't get into it. I like the straight up killing of the CoD series without all the crazy objectives and vehicles to throw on top of it. That's my preference anyway.

The BF series is incredibly popular. I've wanted to get into it for so long, but it's just NEVER felt right to me. Controls feel mushy and nothing like what I'm used to in FPS play.
