Well....finally...here they are! Or at least a part of the many pictures I took last week. Arrival at Schiphol Amsterdam International Airport on Friday September 12. Tired, but very excited! On Saturday we went to the city of Bergen op Zoom, nominated as "The Best City Centre of The Netherlands". We saw "De Gevangenenpoort" and the "Markiezenhof". The Markiezenhof dates back from the 18th century French occupation. The bed was Louis XV's bed in Bergen op Zoom. Sunday we visited the 19 windmills in Kinderdijk. The mills are on the Unesco list of World Heritage. Sunday afternoon we went to the Basilica in Oudenbosch. This is a replica of the St. Peter in Rome. Monday: Veere, a small village close to the North Sea and the Delta Works. The Deltaworks are a series of constructions built between 1950 and 1997 in the southwest of the Netherlands to protect a large area of land around the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta from the sea. Tuesday we drove about 170 miles to the north east of the Netherlands to meet {uZa}Having Fun and his wife in the city of Emmen. Left to right: {uZa}Having Fun (Martin), Cindy, Jessica, Gene, Mrs. Having Fun (Annemarieke). Thanks guys for a lovely lunch! Gene and Martin taking care of business! Wednesday: Amsterdam! The Van Gogh museum: Left to right: Andrea (Mrs. Amok), Jessica, Gene and Cindy. The Royal Palace on the Dam square: Jessica and The Mask: Buying souvenirs... Thursday we had a relaxing day in our house, and a very nice lunch...with Belgian waffles for dessert! Are yous guys from the East Side??? Friday it was time to say goodbye.
