One of the more popular Scythe's in the game is Dawyna's Grace, a Req 9 Scythe Mastery, Damage +20% while enchanted, Extend Enchantements 20%, Armor Penetration +20% chance 20%. It is dropped by The Acolyte of Dawyna in Dajarin Estates outside of Kodonur Crossroads. It is a tough one to get, and sells for around 30-35k at Kamadan.

I have found a build / strategy that works well for solo farming for this:

Ritualist / any (Mesmer if using Leech Signet)

16 Communing (12+3+1)
10 Channeling (9+1)
10 Spawning (9+1)

Any decent Communing staff, preferably with additional energy.

Skills:

Pain
Dissonance
Wanderlust (Elite, obtain in Factions outside of Sun Zu Corridor)
Anguish
Shadowsong
Painful Bond
Vampirism (new PvE only skill) OR Leech Signet (Mesmer interrupt skill)
Boon of Creation

Set up your team with three heroes and four henchies. Any team build is fine, two monks is a good idea, but other than that whatever you have that kills... Don't take an MM, bonies are useless and too hard to control where they agro and what they attack.

Exit from the south gate at Kodonur Crossroads, and head straight south. Wind around avoiding all the bad guys, while heading for that castle / enclosure that you fight in at the end of the Dejarin Estates mission. You can go under the bridge about halfway there to miss the two groups on the right and left on the way.

Once at the castle, let the patrol at the bottom of the step leave. They will exit off to the N/W and won't be a factor.

Now kill everything on the raised area in front of the doors to the castle. There are a couple of bosses here, but it's not too tough a fight with the heroes and henchies.

Once the outside is cleared, move inside and kill everything in the castle EXCEPT Acolyte of Dawyna. She MUST stay alive for now, or you will have to share the potential for the green weapon drop with your team. After everything but Dawyna is dead, run back out the door, and head up to the east on the cliff overlooking the water. Flag your henchies here, so they stay behind out of radar range and thus are not considered in the team for drop purposes.

Now head back on your own, and do the following:

First, set up one Pain spirit. Then plink Dawyna. She will almost immediately change into the "Avatar of Melandru" form. She is just too powerful while in this form, so run away. Head out the door (she will stop and kill the Pain spirit) and a little way off so she doesn't follow. She will head back up to the back end of the castle again.

Now head back in, and without agro'ing her, set up all your spirits in this order, casting Boon of Creation FIRST so you get energy between each spirit:

Pain
Dissonance
Wanderlust
Anguish
Shadowsong

Wait until she loses the Avatar of Melandru form and changes back to normal, then run up, plink her, and run back BEHIND your sprits (let them take any damage from her, not you) and immediately cast Painful Bond on Dawyna. Keep painful bond on her, (she may remove it) and she will go down in no time. Hopefully she drops the green scythe, and you are all set. If not, spit rinse and repeat...

Note, you can make it a bit quicker by going with Mesmer as your secondary and trying to use Leech Signet to interrupt her when she first tries to use the Avatar of Melandru. If you can interrupt this, then you don't need to run out and wait for her to be waiting for the avatar to recharge to kill her. Just set up the spirits first thing, plink her to get her attention, then interrupt when she tries to cast the avatar. Then run back behind the spirits and put Painful Bond on her. Saves time, but I caution that catching the avatar skill with the interrupt is tricky. I found it shorter in the long haul just to use the two phase process I described.

In either case, if she does get the Avatar form going, you might as well run away, wait for all your skills to recharge and get full energy, then go back and try again.
