So I thought I'd create a new forum area for it and see how it does. I got rid of Q4 as that game is long since over with.

So, yea... Picking up the Orange box today and can't wait to check this game out!

You won't regret it man. I get the impression you are a fan of the fast paced games such as Quake or Doom, Unreal etc. I think you will like it. It's just a simple 'capture the control points' or 'capture the intelligence' type gameplay but is great fun and is probably my favourite part of the Orange Box.

With the promise of new maps and extra gametypes it can only get better. And now that it has been officially released, expect to see more custom maps pour in.

I don't see why not. If I get into it as much as it looks like I might, I'll take responsibilty for setting it up assuming CMOS and Lonesome are cool with it.

Let's give it a week or so though just to make sure it's not just initial "Yay! Finally a decent FPS to play!" giddyness

scoring is more like UT and HL, but dont let it fool you... this game is hard.

there are a lot of strengths and weaknesses, as well as special abilities and combo kills to learn.

deeper than i 1st thought it was.

TenK, am looking forward to playing you matey. Be sure to check your stats out via looking at your Steam Community ID page. I do like the Spy a lot due to his 'cloaking, brb' ability. It also likes to praise you for instance, if you are doing badly in terms of score, you will usually get a message when you die saying 'On the bright side you survived longer that round than your previous best' which is reassuring. But when it ends in a stalemate the whole 'You're all losers' comment is rather 'o_0'
The game surprised me, I thought it was going to be a run of the mill over the top FPS but like TenK said, it's deeper than you think. The stats and achievments while although nothing is gained, is still a nice little bonus.

I suck so amazingly bad at FPS games now, but jeez this game is a blast! I played about 4 hours striaght last night!!!!!

I picked up a copy of the Orange Box yesterday.

I really like the game so far, the characters are so funny.

I got killed by a bat. Shocked

Well I wished I had picked up the Orange Box this past weekend. I picked up Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s instead. I do like it, but I can't play online against other people. Sad

Oh well maybe next month I will pick up the Orange Box, and play on OUR TF2 server Wink
