It's official, our nations' fastest growing segment of the population is R-Tards.

Now, we have all dealt with R-Tards before, but today takes the cake. I have only been awake for 3 hours, and have already dealt with several R-Tards today... in fact, I haven't dealt with a non R-Tard except for my wife.

7:30am: get up for Dr's appointment

7:35am: phone rings... furniture company telling me the product that I ordered 2 months ago and was supposed to be delivered today is actually NOT coming today, but instead will be arriving JANUARY 25TH.
7:45am: cell phone rings... apparently, I've been entered in a sweepstakes in MESA, ARIZONA by "either your Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, or Discover". Then am asked for personal information including, D.o.B., last four SSN, etc. I say "I'm not giving this information out, I refuse." I was told, "You can't refuse, you are already in it!" I say, exactly, "Bullshit I can't refuse!" And am met with a an immediate angry response of "Don't you f&%#ing cuss me, you son of a *\$(%#!!!" And then he hangs up on me.

7:50am: open up yesterday's mail and find a bill from Verizon. A bill for services that were supposed to have been canceled TWO MONTHS AGO when we moved. I had called twice prior to termination, and called the day of, as well. Of course, the CSA states "No sir, there's no record of any calls ever being made by you to customer service" NEVER? I called a dozen times in the past 6 months for billing issues, address change, etc... but no, someone obviously wiped my history, so Verizon could bill me another $60... which of course was "impossible" according to the agent.

7:57am: two Excedrin for the throbbing demon in my head ready to spray death and destruction towards the next R-Tard I meet

8:00am: leave for 8:15 Dr's appointment (a pre-employment physical required by and paid for by me new employer)

8:07am: arrive at facility 8 minutes early, fill out forms, told to have a seat.

8:30am: finished morning paper... waiting.

8:15 am: call my home warranty company, while waiting, to see why it is that after 6 calls to them I have not recieved a return call for service to my non-working electrical system. Am told "apparently, the automated system doesn't realize the companies we had listed in the database are no longer in business." Gee, really? YOU THINK???? They have to bring someone in from out of state.

9:00am Finished an old National Geographic... still waiting. Ask when I will be seen, and get (snottily), "just have a seat, and the nurse will be with you as soon as possible." I think to myself, 'self, it's a good thing you're the 1st person in line"

9:30am: finished US weekly from October... waiting.

9:45am: finished Highlights Magazine for kids. I hate Goofus and Galant... I hate Goofus because he's an R-Tard, but I hate Galant cause he's an upitty pratt....waiting

10:00am: Finished yesterday's paper... still freaking waiting.

10:15am: my name is called, and the nurse holds the door open for me, but then says, "wait, we can't see you. you're employer didn't sign the consent form." TWITCH "what do you mean?" "well, it says you have to have the exam within 24 hours of the time/date stamp and it has to be signed... you'll have to come back." TWITCH "what do you mean I'll have to come back? I've been sitting here for TWO HOURS waiting! Can't you just call them or have them fax it?" "No, it has to be the original." TWITCH...TWITCH I think to myself, 'self, it's a damned good thing you're not carrying an Uzi or anything today..."

10:20am: call my new employer, tell them the good news, they say "well, you'll have to come in and get the paperwork, and we'll reschedule the appointment... but you won't be able to fill out your work schedule until you're seen by the doctor." TWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCH

10:21am: I think to myself, 'self...that spiked war hammer I bought is going to come in real handy if there's ever an R-Tard hunting season.'

10:30am: get home and call the custom shop that painted my stock wheels and put the snow tires on to ask if my new black lugnuts came in yet... the ones I ordered 3 weeks ago, and am told (after being told "it should be tomorrow" for 2 weeks) that the lug nuts are not in stock anywhere, and will have to wait till the end of February (and the snow season) to get the lugnuts for my snow wheel/tire setup. TWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCH

10:45am: I have called it a day. I went back to bed and decided to take a nap

10:59am: Phone rings... the furniture company calling to let me know the same crap they told me this morning.

11:10am: phone rings... wrong number
11:11am: phone rings... wrong number AGAIN.
11:13am: phone rings...TWITCHTWITCHTWITCH WRONG NUMBER YOU STUPID R-TARD!!!

11:13 and 10 seconds: Get out of bed, go downstairs, and begin to mix 2 shots of Grand Mariner, 1 shot of Grey Goose, 1 shot of Irish mist, and a splash of OJ... we are fresh out of OJ. TWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCHTWITCH

That's it. If any more R-Tards cross my path today I will be officially kicking their teeth in. Talking to YOU, America.[/b]

I hate days like that! Evil or Very Mad

Hope things improve soon.

Just remember it can always be worse and there are people that would trade there problems for yours without hesitation. That doesn't necesarrily make you feel any better, but be thankful your problems aren't worse.

Maybe you should go do something nice for your wife or someone in need. It's kinda hard to feel the pressure of issues when doing something good for someone else. Cool

At least step away from the guns! wink:

Wait a minute!...Are you just using all this as an excuse to get drunk again? I think you need to be honest and admit there might be a problem here. Laughing Laughing Laughing Just kidding!

Hang in there! Razz

Real studies have shown that only 15% of all Americans are competent.

To me that means that I might run across 1 person out of 10 I deal with in a day that is actually competent. That happens when I see a mirror.

Get used to it. We are now in a society of completely brain dead, lost, arrogant, myspaced, survivor watching, I will make a great living singing like brittany spears, who needs college?, i though everyone had a cell phone, i didnt know it was impolite to use it at a funeral, I though all blonde hair was dyed, i've only had 5 abortions like omg, etc etc etc.....

It's depressing aint it?

barb, the problem is that this stuff has become the norm, not the exception.

I face stuff like this in almost every interaction with everyone I meet. There are very, VERY few people I have met lately who could be honest, do something right, do so on the 1st attempt, or fix a mistake someone else made.

it's expected that when you go to Taco Bell, something in your order is going to get messed up... but now there isn't ANYTHING that I have been able to depend on others for. I EXPECT R-Tarded-ness from just about everyone all the time.

the worst part is paying for other's R-Tard BS. Like the phone company... if I dispute the charges that were their fault... they'll just put me in collections and screw with my credit. Capital One STILL has my account open, despite having several letters in hand guaranteeing the closing of the account (to which they applied a maintenance fee I didn't know about until I went to buy a new house and the account showed up in current serious delinquency), or the mortgage company who just now sent me payment coupons 2 months AFTER I sold that house and paid off that mortgage... who then dinged my credit report after taking my money from an online payment and "misplacing it" (I am still trying to get that money back... they have it, and still hit me with a past 30 days late report), or the piece of furniture I ordered monday and went to pick up yesterday that clearly stated "BLACK" on the order form... yet a "WHITE" one is what they recieved and I refused... after driving thru the holiday nightmare just to get there... and then the clerk at the desk acts like I'm the R-Tard because I didn't order white.

The list goes on and on.

Hell... 2 weeks ago, I went to a fairly high end restaurant with my wife and some friends, and they totally screwed up my $12 appetizer, and served me a $35 steak briquette 35 minutes after the rest of my party had been served. For $35, it should have been the way I ordered it, and it damn sure shoulda been on time. Then, the "comp beer" they gave me was put on the bill, and the waitress took off in a huff when I mentioned it. This would have been a $200 table for her with a $40 tip for good service. And when I went to notify the manager, she said "well, I stopped being the manager at 9pm"... and it was 9:03.

We rushed our dog to the VET-ER after he choked on a large piece of food, and paid the $1300 bill with a check on the spot. The money has been debited from our account... yet the ER just sent us a letter saying if we don't pay our bill immediately we will be sent to collections, and won't be allowed to take our dog back there again.

When I had my bankcard number stolen, the tool at the bank actually told me I had to PROVE I wasn't in Miami at 10am, NYC at 11:15am, and Muncy, Illinois at 3:15pm. Are you serious???

People honestly don't think. They don't try. They just don't care. I think its all the lead in the chinese made goods. yet there the R-Tards go... buying more china-made garbage and getting all worked up when they find out the crap is full of poison again.

This affliction is widespread. It crosses gender, age, ethnicity, socio-economics, religion, EVERYTHING.

I feel like Will Smith in "I Am Legend", but instead of mutants, I am the last intelligent survivor on Planet R-Tard (present company and a very short list of others excluded). My movie title would be "I Am Not R-Tard."

I have to agree with Ten-K. My experience with the vast majority of customer service people is negative. Having been in retail most of my life I am familiar with customer service. I also know that people make mistakes, but when they are pointed out to you (as a clerk, manager, or owner) you should try to FIX THE DAMN PROBLEM, not look upon the customer as the problem. If not for customers you have no more business.

Perhaps what we need is a consumer's UNION. If we were to refuse to patronize businesses who continue to exhibit such service then maybe they would get the point. Let a few of them go out of business and then maybe they'll understand the importance of treating the people with the money a little better.

I have empathy and sympathy for Ten-K's plight. I hope you are able to resolve the issues in your favor very soon, Ten-K. Until then try to stay away from sharp objects and firearms Wink

yeah, right.

Imagine if I did my job the way so many did theirs. "Oops, I gave you insulin, Mrs Jenkins... Your blood sugar was already way low and now you may die. Feel free to file a dispute with management... but they're not back till after the holidays." "Sorry, Mr. Richards, but were fresh out of morphine. How about some Flintstones Vitamins?"

"And Mrs Jones, I know you want your Mother changed, but she was just changed 8 hours ago... she may get a bedsore and a urinary tract infection, but I'v got to go on another break."
