I don't believe the SDK has even been released. I wonder what the delay is.....

Last I heard the SDK will be released early January, but not sure how reliable the source as I found it on some forum during a google search.

We desperately need custom maps.
I'm anxious to see how it all pans out though. From what I gather, custom maps will NOT be an option on ranked servers so I'm thinking that come SDK time, mod servers will become much more popular. YAY for more CoD4 Server #2 action!
I envision us eventually having 3 servers. The 2 we have now (Server #2 will obviously get custom maps as well), and a 3rd one that's identical to server #1 for those that like the slower pace but with custom maps.

A new christmas map was released with the latest patch. When air strike was called, instead of jet turbines you heard sleigh bells jingle. maybe it was just overlooked.

Indeed. But I could definitely use some variety.

That bites to hear, especially with people here that are eager to build new ones. I hope everything works out. Good job keeping up Scary!!

from defrag:
Was asked to help beta the SDK before it comes out to public with a group of others, pretty good stuff. Certainly not as powerful as CryEngine or Unreal Engine 3, but a better scripting engine and more optimized tools than either one with some some darn good documentation.
If you want to check out the Wiki for the SDK the devs are working on, check it out here:
www.infinityward.com/wiki
No ETA on the tools yet, but I predict last week of December or early January.

Seems they are focusing on help and support a lot more than before. Probably to encourage new mappers into the mapping world. Good luck to em!
I expect early Jan but who knows? Monday's and Fridays are usually 'release days'..
