I am interested in upgrading my video card. I currently have a GeForce 7800 GTX. I will be running UT3, CoD4, Crysis, et al.

I am looking for suggestions and recommendation for a decent DX10 card that will run these games at decent frame rates.

I'll second that notion. Mine runs beautifully, and I don't regret buying it one bit.

When you decide what you want pm me bro & I'll get you my discounted price. I agree w/ Spam,.... 8800GT(or8800GTX w/768mb Twisted Evil prolly $500 to $600 range depending on brand) or an 8600(aproxx$125)(...$150for Asus) Maybe less on all those cards. I don't know until I call my Dell Rep.

Anyway, if I can help please let me know.

I am still using the GeForce 7900 GS... I know the 8800 GT is a much better card but is the 7900 good enough for now?

I've been extremely happy with my evga 8600gts at its about $150. It will also run Crysis just fine depending on your other hardware.

So when I build a box I should definitely go with the 8800GT? I lag so much because my 7600GS just does not cut it. I'm sure it will make a big difference.

with the right CPU combination with an 8800GT and the right config exspect 200+ FPS.

Without dual 8800GT's you can't max out number of dynamic lights, model detail, and water detail. They will only go up to normal, but the game still looks amazing and runs great. That would just have to be another upgrade if you wanted to see it all the way up.

just hold out for the next gen 9800's

according to nVidia, one 9800 will beat to 8800GTXs by a decent margin.

With an fx 55 and 2x 8800gt's the fps on some cod 4 maps still drops as low as 30 will occaisionally hit 200 plus but not for long. The air strikes alone will stop you dead nearly at times.
