What is everyone's favorite media player for music etc?
I do like using VLC.

haven't had the urge to update in year and years, still using the original version.
no video, just audio.... small, and fast
can index my 20+ gigs of mp3s in a minute , set it on shuffle/autoplay, and click I'm jamming with geddy and the boys, then sinatra, then nickleback,

I find that I like it this way:
All Video: VLC
MP3 and CD's: Winamp
Windows Media Player is a bloated piece of junk.
P.S. You really SHOULD install the K-Lite Codec package as well, and it pays to keep it current. You can get it from

ffdshow for all major codecs
Matroska for the MKV container
and to play them all, Media player classic hands down, imo a much better player than vlc
