help with ventrillo can't get mic set up with my new motherboard
heres my motherboard settings nothing is on mute

only thing i can think of is up where your input and output device is...do you have the correct device chosen? I am not a computer guru, so I am probably way off on that. just a thought

I have the same onboard sound on my motherboard, and had nothing but a world of trouble with Vent. It just wouldn't recognize the microphone, no matter how I set the darn thing. There are some threads on some support forums for my MSI motherboard that talked about it being a known problem with that sound chip / setup program, but I don't remember if there was a final solution that worked good. I ended up going out and spending $50 or something on a SoundBlaster ExtremeGamer X-FI soundcard, which works like a champ.

Well, I didn't try all that hard to find a solution for Vent, as I was leaning toward the better sound with the X-FI anyway, and the hassles with Vent tipped me over. It wasn't all that expensive for the sound card, and the quality of the sound is a lot better than the onboard chip.
If you do some searching in various support forums, you might be able to solve the problem without spending any more money.
