eh ...meh bleh..
in the previous version I had it set up to automatically use a bookmark file in a different location than default using a user.js file..
// Set Location of bookmarks.html
user_pref("browser.bookmarks.file",
"E:\Data Storage\Fav\bookmarks.html");

I knew that ff3 didn't have a normal use of a bookmark.html file but did not think it would be so difficult to find a way to load save bookmarks. passwords etc from a remote location.
any clues how to achieve my goal?

my prefs. js does not seem effective either?

trying to figure out how to automate backing up this new version has been a pain, I just moved the default profile entirely off the cdrive. gotta love ini files.
since this ff3 uses a sqllite db for book marks and stuff does it operate as a mini server?
