I am frequently asked what all I do to tweak my PC's. I usually get accused of keeping my tricks to myself. It's not that, it's just I don't know how to explain this stuff very well. So I thought I would share and you will see what I mean. I don't do any over clocking, but I always tweak my PC's to run the best for the hardware configuration that I build. The following is a list of about 1/3 of the things I do. Please do not ask me to explain any of these. If you do not understand it, it is best to stay away from these. I will not be responsible for anyones PC except my own. If you do understand this stuff, then feel free to look it over and see if it applies to your own PC and make your own decisions. These entries will not always be the same for every PC and are sometimes operating system specific. All of our sytems are based on Intel CPUs, Nvidia video cards, and XP Pro operating system. So know what you are doing or leave it alone.

Of course someone like Eagle may be able to explain these in detail. As for me, I don't know this stuff well enough to try and explain.

Yeah, as soon as I wash the exploded brains off the wall behind my chair, I will get right on explaining all those... Wink

Here is the best tweaking guide I have found for XP and Vista. Download either as a .pdf file and you are all set with every arcane setting you can imagine, complete with full explanations.

Awesome! I am glad you posted that Eagle. I actually bought the tweakguides tweaking companion and forgot all about it. I bought it just immediately before our house getting damaged and it got stuffed away. I never even opened it up. Laughing

After seeing your post, I kept thinking that I remembered buying it, but what happened to it. (yes the joys of old age) I found it today! I look forward to reading thru it. Well that is if I can get a spare moment from studying.
