Hey all.
I've downloaded a bunch of songs from Napster but can't put it on my ipod as it is protected wma files.
Can you suggest some software I can use to conver the files. Free software would be preferred.
Thanks

Get Audacity http://http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Install it
set the record device in Audacity to "Stereo" or "What You Hear" (depending on which sound chip / card you have. Make SURE your headset microphone is muted or unplugged.
Create a new recording. The default is Stereo / 44100hz. This is good.
Start recording by clicking the big red button
Toggle over to whatever player you use for the Napster songs, and play one.
When it's done, toggle back and stop the recording.
Highlight any extra silence at the beginning, and "cut" it. Do the same with any extra silence at the end.
Use File/Export and save the file as a 192kps Stereo Constant Rate .MP3 file. Fill in the file info with name, artist, album, track #, year etc. as far as you have it. This will set the ID3 tags in the .MP3 properly.
Spit rinse and repeat for each song.
