I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share!
Red for McCain.
Blue for Obama.
Here is the 2008 presidential election county by county results:
Here is the 2008 presidential election state by state results:
Here is the 2008 presidential election popular vote results:
I love our form of government and I think it is the best in the world. I wouldn't change a thing about our electorate college, it really is a good plan when you learn the reasons behind it.
I do wish we could rate the politicians that we vote for. It would be somewhat useless to rate the one not voted for. I personally would still like to be able to rate all of them, but the ones not voted for would have to be taken with a grain of salt and results would need to be tracked to show this. I do think it would be benificial if we could give a rating on several issues when casting the vote. Then the politicians would know what the voters really think. Of course this would make voting a little longer, but that could be solved with more voting places. Not that majority ratings should be the final answer to all questions, but it beats the crap out of all the constant polls that can be very skewed.
I also wish it was illegal to show vote results until ALL voting was done across the country. At that time it should still be kept quiet until each county has made it's official release of it's results. At this point it would become easy to start guessing the electorial vote, but still atleast all the voting is done.
I would like the same scenerio for the states; No release of electrorial votes until every county has made an official release. I don't care if the official results are contested or not, there could still be an initial official result.
Also I would like to state that I am very proud to have a black family in the White House. And yes I know Obama is only half black, but that is close enough. I just think it is a mile stone that we Americans can be proud of. As I am sure the vast majority of America feels, racism is evil and needs to die. Having said that, I do wish it was a different person and not Obama due to my political beliefs.
That's my ever so "Not So Humble Opinion" for today!

I too am no fan of Obama's politics, but am glad that we have finally taken such a huge step in putting this ugly chapter of our history behind us. I for one am proud that our country elected an African-American with so little hate and prejudice being injected into things. It shows we have come a long way, even though everyone knows we still have a ways to go before race is just ignored...
