Post subject:  COD2 Crashing
Hello all,
I'm getting pretty frustrated, so i'm posting my debug files here for your enjoyment. I have reinstalled probably 4 times, i've even used your install package innocent. I've noticed this gets worse over time, when I re-install I can run the game longer then I can today. I have changed everything I think think of compatibility mode, sound files. deleted old maps. removed background wall papers. but here's a salty word for ya... I don't seem to experience this on the OUTLAW E server.....

I have only had this happen once every two or three weeks. I crash more in outlaw than here. Could be mod conflicts?

I am going to rebuild the mod over the next week. I am sure it has something to do with the BotStand error. It's most probably an issue in the weapon files I am thinking, or a comment forgotten somewhere or something.

Thousands of lines of code to go through, easier to just rebuild it.

When the server crashes, that's just issues with the maps being run with a load and conflicts happening, as it does not crash during testing...

A quick search online reveals that Extreme 3.0 is about to be released as it is in alpha/beta testing, might be best to let that release and then rebuild.

in discussions..... after one of my rebuilds it was mentioned if I was running in compatibility mode... "of course" was my answer but I checked anyway. and appears I didn't re-check it after my last rebuild.... I have it checked for sure right now.... will try again next week.... I seem to be crashing more often then others..... hopefully this is it...

I did something different with my latest Windows 7 fresh install, and it fixed a few minor bugs that I had with CoD2.

I installed CoD2 from DVD, but before doing so, I right clicked on the exe on the DVD and chose run as administrator and compatibility of XP SP3. Then installed the game.

I then did both of those steps (run as administrator and compatibility of XP SP3) to the CoD2 v1.3 update and again to the game exe before launching.

This did remove all the little issues I had with CoD2 in the past.

Not sure if ALL those steps are necessary, but they don't hurt anything either. ;)

Try that W10 download and also the Compatibility Settings with Admin Privileges(even if already admin) and the XP SP3.

I got a feeling it has to partially do with the Mod as well. I'll crash once in a blue moon, but you my friend are hitting the jackpot too often.

I am keeping up with the Extreme 3.0 forums. They are just working on the final modifications.
