Hi All,

Question: Almost every time I use the left 'shift' button it get this:|S. Where does this line come from and how can I turn if off? It's very annoying when typing.

Many thanks and hoping everyone is well.

Pitt

Have you tried using a different keyboard??? I sounds like the one you have is sending an "invalid" hex code or 2 separate codes, to the computer when you press that particular key, and that is how windows interprets it... What you are seeing is most likely &hB353 which translates to &d179 and 83 respectively... 83 decimal is the ASCII code for the capital S, and 179 decimal is the ASCII code for the bar you are getting...

If you are using something fancier than a standard keyboard, such as a gaming keyboard, it could be the drivers or the keyboard... If you are using a standard keyboard, then it is most likely the keyboard...

Anyhow, since keyboards are so cheap, I'd start by getting a different one and see if the problem goes away...

Thanks 'redneck - I have another keyboard laying around somewhere and I'll give it a shot.
