I have two computers at home. One will not connect to the internet for some reason - it just stopped working a day ago. The cable is OK, as I've switched them from one to the other. One works fine - the other nothing.

Any suggestions? I haven't changed anything on the one that cannot connect.

Thanks All :?

Try updating your Ethernet driver. Is there anything in device manager showing a problem? Was there a windows update that changed anything or a firewall update.
Nice to see you over here too :"

Thanks Ren - love the new site. :D

No yellow under device manager. I don't believe there have been any updates lately. It's a strange thing - one day working fine, next day boot up and no internet. Oh well..

Try a system restore maybe. If you are not going back too far. I would be tempted after that to remove the ethernet driver and reboot let windows replace it.

I have to agree with Ren, however the Nic card might be bad, they do go bad from time to time.
