Easy way to post what you have is to go to Start then run. Type in dxdiag then hit enter. Click save all information and save it somewhere that you can find it. Then copy and paste in from operating system up to display devices you can delete the dx information between that. Like this. Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 2814MB RAM Page File: 1139MB used, 4487MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 8800 GT |

I would save up for something else. Whatever you do really will get bottlenecked by your CPU. I have an old PC on par with that, I added a bit more ram and a graphic card not as good as yours a few years back. It was ok for COD and UO even COD 2 but it was never going to play the latest COD's. Todays minimum specs for most games are 3GHz processor and 1GB of ram and I bet that is sluggish. |

If I was gonna start to build my own rig. what would be a good config. Doesnt have to be fancy just something to start that i can upgrade on for awhile. It seems witht he way things are going if i start to peiece one together buy the time it get it goin it'll be out dated. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I know just enoguh to be dangerous with a computer.lol. I know about the only thing I can scavenge from my current rig is prolly the HD as a 2nd drive if possible |

Post a price you have in mind, and the guy's on here will build you something. I am in the UK so cannot help with prices over there. Or even get a pre- built one. |

I agree with Ren... Time has come my friend.. I would look into an x58 setup. You can make a good budget system right now for $600-900 USD. At least this way you have your foot in the door and then could upgrade your GPU later. i7 socket 1366 mobo $170.00 SLI/Crossfire ready http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813130227" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 6GB DDR3 memory for $140.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820220441" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; And if your lucky you have a Micro Center close to home you can get a i7 920 D0 Quad Core CPU for $200.00. $510.00 bucks for the main hardware.. |
