Well it looks like my camera ol'Betsy has decided to retire after the Ireland trip! The DSLRs I'm looking at are the Canon EOS Rebel XS EF-S, Canon EOS Rebel XSi or the Pentax K-X and maybe the Nikons. Any point&shoot recommendations? Any opinions would be appreciated! |

Settled on a Nikon D3000 from Best Buy, they had a good special going on here. The kit included a camera backpack, camera& lens and another lens- 55-200mm telephoto for one price. |

Sorry I was going to respond. Nice camera. I know there are a couple of Nikon users here and I have seen their work, very nice. |

The 3000 is a great camera. I put it through some paces a year or so ago. You will find it a fun and flexible platform to expand your imagery. I tested its variable sensor positioning for resolution and a lot of macros stuff with it. Let me know if you have any problems or are just curious about it. The wife got the 3000 in the divorce and I am now using a D2x. (uZa) VS ( VirginSacrifice) up in Colorado shoots a lot of botanicals with his Nikon. Sorry it took me so long to catch your post.
