I have changed the way pictures are displayed in the forums to keep HUGE images from messing up the format for folks and making them have to scroll around to find the "next" button and such. All pictures posted with either the "img" BBCode or as an "inline attachement" will be automatically resized to a maximum of 500x500 pixels but will view full sized in a "lightbox" when clicked.

As you may remember, I have set the fourms to accept "attachments" on posts. There is an interesting side benefit in that you can "attach" an image to a post, and it will insert it "inline" in the message. This means that if you use the "attach" method instead of the "img" url "/img method, you DON'T HAVE TO HOST THE PICTURE ANYWHERE. They are uploaded to the server and stay with your message. No more ImageShack or PhotoBucket or whatever you were using.

This only works if you have the image on your PC, so if you are "hot linking" to some picture on another site (shame on you, this is VERY bad internet etiquette) you will need to do it the old "img" way. If you do attach the image, you can delete it from your PC if you want, it's safe on the server.

To use attachments, see the attachment dialog at the bottom of the post when you are in edit mode.

So here is a picture done the old way and the new way...

Old way...
Code:

And as an attachment - Click image to view full

Here are a couple of pictues to show how to put attached pictures where you want them in the message:

You need to go to your profile and re-submit your signature so it stops staying in front of the images.. You don't have to change a thing, just bring it up, leave it just as it is, and say "submit". I reworked the "flash" BBCode so it corrects that problem, but existing flash images need to be kicked in the pants once.

Ren.. You need to put URL's inside the "url" "/url" BBCodes or you get that wierd formatting with junk to the right.

Code:
[url]http://tinyurl.com/yobjfs[/url]

Scroll my answer so that the online tab is at the top of the page and the image opens behind my sig. Scroll the page down so the bottom of my sig is at the bottom of the page, the image then opens above my sig

If you need to upload an image to our uzapics site for your signature, so you can use a url as your images for your signature, just let me know, I'll create you an account for that site...

Send me a PM if so...
