Set to release on October 22nd, 2009.

http://www.downloadsquad.com/2009/06/02/windows-7-release-date-october-22nd/

If you are running the Release Candidate, you will have until March of 2010 to buy the upgrade to the release version. So no hurry...

That's fast! Though I've yet to find one single problem with the RC build so I can understand pushing it out so quick.

Me too. I have had no problems at all and don't even see any mention of ANY significant bugs on any of the sites. There is a newer build than the public RC1 floating around, but I can't see any reason to mess with it since I don't see any problems with RC1 and I'm not sure if the "drop dead" date on subsequent builds will be as generous as the one for RC1.

I look forward to this one, although I don't look forward to the price tag for the 'pro' version. I don't think I will be going 'Ultimate' with this one as I don't really need the stuff... and 'XP mode' is in the lesser 'Pro' version...

I must say though... it will be really weird leaving XP Pro for good... and I am glad I left Vista alone all this time.

Now for backing up everything......

I'm really liking it and although I didn't have a lot of trouble with Vista (I was sort of a late adopter myself on that, I waited until after the first 9 months or so when the driver issues were sorted out) you didn't miss all that much. Win7 is far better than Vista.
