Looks like ranked for the unmodded servers I reckon so they can play bought maps. Unranked for servers with modded maps. Our hosts are the only server rental company allowed to have these. 24 man tops for unranked and 18 for ranked. I also think Activision are up to something again, as with MW2 the game is going to be tied to steam once again using their wonderful VAC which we know does not work.

Both punkbuster and VAC are about the same nowadays. Both of them work on delayed bans now but punkbuster is a little quicker than VAC. Both of them are designed to work with admins which now with dedicated servers like they say on Black Ops you don't have to worry about hackers with modded lobbies or aimbots and wallhacks. Also with having dedicated servers you can play the gametype you want or have specific rulesets like no noobtubes or no runners but at least you don't have to worry about commando, danger close, or one man army.

The things I am liking is the more in depth customization so maybe you can be wearing a ghillie suit all the time or have a different color camo from the rest of your team mates and having more than 3 or so camos for your gun. With that also you have the different sights more than just the red dot sight or the ACOG. It can be a line, a cross, a smiley face if you want, and it can even be different from red. Think they showed like 10 different colors it can be.

Theres no boosting oriented kill streaks like everyone wanted the nuke in MW2. Sure theres still the chopper gunner and the RC C4 car but they aren't overly overpowered.

The new game modes look extremely fun as well. The gun game was taken from CS:S working from a pistol through all the other weapons til you get to the supposed hardest weapon to use in the game which they think is the Ballistic Knife. The One in the Chamber game will be for the more hardcore players. With the contracts, the wager game modes, and the normal game play for the CoD points it will be easy to get what you want unlocked and attachments you want to unlock.

I vote for a Chicago server!
We moved CoD2 to Chicago and ALMOST EVERYONE had the same ping, it's great.
With up to 24 players on Saturday, the average ping was anywhere from 50 to 60 at different times.
That's not bad, and beats seeing half the team in the < 30 range and the other half in the > 80 range.
Chicago is more central to the largests concentration of the US and Canada population, than Tampa or Sheffield. ;)

I will most likely be getting the game but prolly not until maybe Christmas. I am looking forward to it simply because I still play MW2 once in a while and its getting to be either knifing runners using the lag to their advantage or noobtubers with little to no skill other than to drop a nade at your feet and this is even in hardcore, which is what I play the most. If its not that its the hackers, if I play with some of my friends from WoW they play domination and there's always a hacker in that gametype at least 1 every 3 games or so I play. I just can't wait for admins to be able to ban people and not have to worry about hacks with a VAC streaming game. Just like TF2 and Counterstrike either Source or 1.6 they don't seem to have even 1% of the hackers that MW2 does.

Other than that you have your weapons that just from the videos look pretty cool. That and the killstreaks aren't game ending like the nuke it helps but at least if you want on the server you can shut them off. So all in all it looks like it might be a homerun as long there is an admin online during peak hours and such. Something with more of an update game compared to the dead horse of WW2 :P.

In all seriousness, I expect to be pathetically bad in FPS games for a while once I start back up. MMO's have made me soft!
