I have been experiencing a large number of cold boots, blue screens freezing etc. during game play with BF3 that seems to just continue on and on. a few of us gave Team Speak 3 a whorl tonight and I didn't have a single crash, I am curious if vent has a conflict with BF3? I was running the Ventrillo version 3.0.5. I have just upgraded to the latest 64bit 3.0.8 version and i'll let you know how it turns out. anybody else experiencing this?

well I have already had a cold boot with the new version I ran a solid 1.5 hours before my machine cold booted.
symptoms, BF3 was launching the next map. heard a odd clicking noise from my speakers, then the machine booted. Also add all over clocking has been knocked back to stock including voltages, cpu and memory clocks.

here are my system logs. basically there's nothing to go on. pretty much it booted and the computer generated it's fail report after it rebooted. it did it so fast the OS thinks it lost power, also notice the time stamps. nothing was going on within the system for over 40 min so i'm not sure what the trigger is other then an assumption against vent...... ugh suggestions???

I DI EZ, you have a conflict but it doesnt look like Ventrilo. Went Vent first came out I had a lot of issues with it. They were all related to a sound card file. From time to time I still get them. You are having Virtual Machine errors which usually means a compatibility error, IE something made for 32bit and its running 64bit or something like that. It can be BF3 clashing with vent or maybe firefox was trying to update. If you have firefox go into the settings and do not let it auto update, then reboot again and see if you have the issue. Also unistall vent, go get yourself CCleaner, its free, and clean up all unused files and run the registry cleanup. Reboot and reinstall vent. Dont open vent but open BF3 and see if you have any issues, close bf3 open vent, establish comms then open bf3 and see if you have any issues. FYI never open vent after you have opened a game. I always get funky errors when I do that. I have to open vent first then the game.

Hope this helps

alright here's the line up
removed vent 64 but
removed update options from firefox
also deleted the config files for ventrillo in my roaming profile
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Ventrilo

updated and ran
CCleaner
Spybot Search and destroy
Malwarebytes
nod32 virus scan
microsoft security essentials
did a system clean up and blew out my last recovery points and all
also ran a disk defrag with Auslogics for grins (been about 30 days or so)
re installed 64 bit vent.

more forum hunting and ran across this thread that also gave more likage back to this thread
it sounds like I'm not the only one that assumed vent. I have nearly the exact same build out as the first link above.

so nooowww I started digging after my motherboard and surprise surprise there is a mother load of updates within the last 2 months for me

installed the new realtek audio drivers (this is the one I hope fixes my problem)
installed new intel rapid storage update for my raid
installed new LAN drivers
updated bios to most recent version

thanks for getting me back on the right track. once my raid rebuilds again (I pulled a cable by accident whooopss) i'll give this a whorl and see how things work.

Thanks!!!!!!

alright I have gone nearly 12 hours of game time and no reboots. I have only been booted from the servers once..... possibly the trigger and repair has been found.........
