My Mom (85 years old) lives about 40 minutes from me near Alexandria, Virginia, and was snowed in with the rest of us this morning. I just got this email from her and thought I would share. Shows there are still good neighbors out there. ************** Well, I woke up to see our snow storm had arrived and I looked out the window to see if the newspaper was there. Couldn't see it, but there were faint signs of foot prints. Sure enough, when I opened the front door, the paper was there. One of my neighbors parents must have made the effort. As I ate breakfast, I heard noise outside and there was the neighbor from across the street with his little son, shoveling the driveway and sidewalk. Last night, ANOTHER neighbor came and took my trash and recycle to the curb and then brought me a hot dinner. I think I had better warm up the stove and start baking cookies like a nice old lady should, to thank everyone. Love, Mom |

That is GREAT! There are still good people in the world! Your Mom is lucky to have such good neighbors, and they must think a great deal of her to go to the effort to help out in that way. Glad to hear she is doing well! |

She has lived in that house since 1969 and has seen a couple of generations grow up in the neighborhood. It's a nice neigborhood where people tend to know each other and actually do come to the door to "borrow a cup of sugar". All the little kids on the street stop by once a day to say Hi, get a piece of candy and chat with "Nanny" about school, friends, etc... She loves it. |

That reminds me of where I grew up...there was a sweet older lady down a few doors. We would always get her mail and sit and visit her./ Her house is still there... I remembered she loved the Royal Family....pictures of them everywhere. How are you Eagle? Everything ok? Do I need to come and shovel you out? |
