So here I am, sitting here enjoying getting my backside shot off on another beautiful saturday night, and all of a sudden, ***POOF***, no internet.

My first thought is that maybe Mrs. Redneck didn't pay the bill, but such was not the case... So I call Comcast, get put on hold for a while, only to get to talk to a dweeb who assumes I know nothing about computers... He tells me I need to reboot everything in the house except maybe the toaster, then tells me that I need to reboot again and again... I FINALLY get moved to hold, then talk to another dweeb who starts off wanting me to reboot... This imbicile decides that it must be my computer, since he can't fix it, until I explain to him (in NO uncertain terms) that there are currently 6 computers here with no internet service, and yet the network router and switches are all working fine, because I can send files back and forth, and I can even ping my modem... So once again, I get put on hold, (BTW, their muzak really blows!!!) when lo and behold the lights on my modem suddenly start flashing and lighting up... I think "Finally", and go to get back online... The high speed internet service I was getting now really made me miss my old 14.4k modem... It took 5 minutes for Google's home page to load up... Finally, another idiot gets on the line and tells me that they are having a problem in my area, but it should be fixed soon... Shortly after I hung up, my modem went out AGAIN, and AGAIN, and AGAIN...

Now it seems to be up and running, although with the WONDERFUL service we get from comcrap, it could go out at any time... SOMEONE PLEASE SEND A NEW CABLE COMPANY TO GIVE THESE MORONS SOME COMPETITION!!! I don't care if it's ACME Cable Company with Wile E. Coyote as President... Comcast BLOWS!!!



Sorry, just felt the need to rant, especially since they ruined a really good saturday CTF night for me...

I would, but the only other 2 choices are dsl or dial-up, neither of which really work for me... I wonder how much it would cost me to start my own cable internet service...
