Post subject:  Don't forget Summer vacation
Just a reminder for those members/regulars who live in the Orlando, Florida area, or who may be traveling there this summer, I plan to be there from June 23 - July 24. SgtMattBaker and I got together the last time I was there and plan to do so again. In fact, we're hoping to get as many {uZa} people together as possible. Between MattBaker and Scorpius I am hoping they can find a venue that will be able to handle all of us and make a party of it (We'll have to keep TwilightGirl away from sharp objects).

If you want to make it happen then let's start planning ASAP so we can make the most of it. here's hoping we can get a bunch of us together. :D 8-)

Ok, guys (and gals?), let's begin to get the ball rolling with this post. As I see it there are two viable options for an {uZa} gathering in Orlando; DisneyWorld or Universal Studios. However, DisneyWorld's Pleasure Island is currently closed for renovations and I'm not sure when they will reopen. This leaves us with Universal Studios. This is where SgtMattBaker and I met when I was last in Orlando and it met our needs quite well.

This has several benefits for us all. First, there are hotels on site at which you may stay. Perhaps if we can get a head count for them we can arrange for a group discount for our members and you can all stay on the same floor (Matt will be ON the floor, but that's another story). The Hard Rock cafe is also on site and can provide a large enough room to accommodate us (we should probably make reservations as far ahead as possible. After we enjoy a meal we can walk over to Universal's City Walk which has numerous shops, clubs, dancing, movies, etc. Those who wish to imbibe may do so without having to worry about driving back to your hotel (of course you will still have to do some walking and should try to avoid falling into the water system they use for transportation).

Those who can and wish to stay for more than a day or two may also purchase tickets to the theme parks. The best, and easiest, way to make this happen is to be able to call them with a set number of people ASAP and set up all reservations. I am willing to make the calls to get all pertinent information and pass it along to you guys, but I NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WISH TO ATTEND. The dates to work with are June 23 through July 24, 2009. That is the time frame for my vacation there. I ask that you all communicate, using this thread if you wish, and determine when you can be there and how many people you will be bringing (Wife, kids, girlfriends, etc.). The sooner we get started the better.

I called Universal Studios Theme Park today to check on prices for rooms, park tickets, etc. The most efficient way to make this work for everyone is for me to be able to give them some hard numbers. I need the following information ASAP:

* Number of rooms needed for your party
* Number of people in your party (adults and children)
* How many nights do you wish to stay?
* Do you want to purchase theme park tickets as well?
* Specific dates you can be there

I think that should get us started. Once I give this information to the park services people they can give me some prices. Right now I know that me and Underdog are available anytime during the four-week period I listed in the initial post. I need you guys to start narrowing down the date(s) you can attend.
