Here is the little stray cat that adopted us this week. Found her a good home with a really nice crazy cat lady in the area. I miss her though.. She was really cute.

It's cool that you were able to find her a home... We have 3 cats, and tried adding a couple of the neighborhood strays with no luck... The first one was to sick, (FIV, feline leukemia, worms, and other issues) so I had to have him put to sleep  The second one had Feline Leukemia, but our vet knew of a rescue shelter in Lousiville, KY that takes in cats with that, so I had to make a 400 mile road trip with her... Now we just keep food and a small shelter outside for the neighborhood cats...

That's a beautiful cat.. my sister is kind of a crazy cat lady.. she and her husband have 4 now. My gf and I have taken in a jet black male kitten that was dumped in a box on the side of our current apartment (moving tomorrow). I still need to get it's nutz chopped so it wont be so spazzy.. (balls on a cat is so WT). |

I was discouraged at first. The animal shelter (pound) in our area is so swamped they only promise 3 days of trying to find a home before they put them to sleep. Wasn't going that route. The other "no kill" shelters and "rescue groups" have a month long (or more) "waiting list" before they will even talk to you. Finally put the cat on Craigslist targeted at our area, and boom. Got about 6 decent prospects in 24-48 hours. If it ever happens again, I will start there... |
