I'm not sure that the Cop should have done anything. The guy was getting out of his car with a phone in his hand and the Cop pushed him. To me it appeared the Cop started it unnecessarily. I could be wrong, but that's how it looked to me. The Officer could have just stood in front of him and wait to see if he did something or says something.
Other than that, the Cop should have laid down the law a little faster.

Well, you see, Studdog, the reason cops do that, and I know because I have been there, is because once they have told a guy to stay put, and he doesn't, you can't take any chances that he isn't going to do something really stupid. He may look docile, but can throw a punch or lunge for your gun in a millisecond. The only way to assure that doesn't happen is to take preemptive measures and gain control of the situation. You don't give him a chance to do anything more stupid than simply disobeying your command.

Your right Cynic, we try not to wait for people to act. Atleast I try to be preventive, once told to stay put and he doesnt thats resisting or disorderly conduct and thats arrestable atleast here. And those that are taser trained does the word Drive Stun ring any bells....it works....lol.
Lasherman sry to hear that. Im a firm believer. Those reduce injuries to officers and datainees.

I didn't see or hear the Police tell him to stay put, but if they did then of course I completely agree with you guys. What's up with that annoying girl? JIMMY STOP! JIMMY STOP! She should get a fine just for the annoying scream.
