Six weeks ago we had started our Rottweiler “Tasha” on a diet and giving her lots of daily exercise.
Now six weeks later everyone has noticed she has lost a lot of fat and looks much more muscular.
Today I took her in for a weigh in and she went from 125 lbs. to 128 lbs.
My jaw hit the floor!
How is that possible? :?:
Could she really have burnt off fat and put on muscle even faster?
I just don’t get it!

Muscle density is 1.06 g/ml and fat density is (about) 0.9
g/ml. Thus, one liter of muscle would weight 1.06 kg and one liter of
fat would weight 0.9 kg. In other words, muscle is about 18% denses
than fat.

So, in words that Matt Baker can understand,

 To remain the same weight your dog has to loose 1.18 units of fat for every unit of muscle it gains.

cheers, MrPOW

What he said lol^

What do you feed your dog? my dog gets Nutro Dry food(lamb and rice) and the odd canned food. But he gets the scraps of meat, like what i cut off stuff and so on. He LOVES kidney and chicken Gizzards cooked up for him into his kibble. I take him into the mountains once a week maybe twice a week. hes have been going twice a week lately, and couple days ago on a 25 mile backpack trip 25 there and back. Hes sitting around 155-160 mostly muscle weight. His favorite toys are cow hooves, and Dino bones the ones that are almost 3 feet long and 15-20lbs.

I hope she is loving her new home, but treat them right they will do anything for you :D

We feed her a couple different types of Eukanuba brand dog food; Eukanuba Rottweiler and Eukanuba Large Breed.
Since she is on a diet, she gets the minumum amount for a 100 pound dog.
She really has put on a lot of muscle, but I was surprised that she gained 3 pounds.
Tasha is doing great and has proved to be a perfect addition to our family.
We just love her lots and take her every where.
She has proven to be very social with people and dogs.
This past Saturday she even wanted to play with the Horse at my dad-in-laws house.
It was very funny, and the horse had interest in her too.
I didn't let her in the fence with the horse as I don't want her to get hurt.

We are still looking for a second dog.
Everytime we found one that we like, someone gets it first, or it's not good with other dogs. :(
