What is your kid getting you?

I don't mind spending big bucks for my kids games as long as I'm getting something in return.

My son was the slowest eater in the world. It would take him an hour and a half, to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. There was no changing it.

He loves playing Nintendo. So began telling him, he could play for an hour starting from the time my wife put his dinner down on the a table. The longer it took him to eat, the less play time he got. Problem fixed!

When my son wanted an Xbox 360. so I told him I wanted to see him on the "High Honor Roll" 93+ average for 1 year, first.

He did it, and has been on it for 3 years now, with no effort from me.

Some people see these games as things that make kids dumb and lazy, But they can be used to teach kids some valuable life's lessons. Witch way your kid turns out is up to you.

Good luck,
Mr.POW, out

LOL my parents did the same thing for me. Videogames are a really good motivator. My parents are always threatening to take my copmuter or TV or something away if i start doing bad in school or something.

Got me ready in life to kill zombies and those things with red eyes that lurk in the fog. All normal people carry crucifix's garlic stakes and anti zombie bite venom around with them Right ?

Well, it's done. Console, 2 memory cards, controller and two games - $140 out the door. Again thanks for the advice.

Mr. Pow - I have no real complaints about him. He's a pretty active 7-year old: baseball three times a week, karate lessons three nights a week, hockey clinic once a week and he's always outside messing around. Plus, he's about a week away from finishing 1st grade and did pretty well - A's and a couple B's. He's worked pretty hard in getting his reading skills up to standards [for 1st grade that is]. He goes to a Catholic school, so he sits in church every Friday morning too for an hour. He's earned the PS2 but it'll come with a caveat - if the grades suffer or he's spending too much time in front of the TV, I'll pull the plug - literally.

Lol definitely know how he feels. I went to a catholic private school from Kindergarten till 5th grade. They are a lot tougher on you and those nuns are really intimidating.

Mr. POW is right, DID the same thing with my grandson except I rewarded him for reading books. It is a great incentive. f8
