Ok, i got a question to fans of Coldplay, this song Viva la vida, what do you think the meaning behind it is?

I am pretty sure it is about Charles X of France, and the July Revolution.
But i was reading the wiki page on the song, and people were speculating it was Louis XVIII which i think is wrong.

sorry if this is a bit random, but i love going behind the song, and especially when the lyrics mean somthing.

so if anyone could toss in a thought if you know much about that history, would be interesting to hear what others think.

I would tend to agree that Charles X makes more sense. He was the Bourbon king at the time of the French Revolution, Losing power and sent into exile (which works with the song). Louis the XVIII was one of his brothers, restored to the throne after the Revolution petered out (mostly because they had run out of heads to cut off) in 1814. Charles X again took the throne in 1824 when Louis XVIII died, and later abdicated in favor of his grandson in 1830. He went off to live in England and died of natural causes (Cholera) in 1836.
