Congrats Munky now you will be practicing for years trying to play them GH songs on the real thing.

If you like Metallica, you could learn quite a few of their songs(rythem guitar, not lead or solo's). I also agree with Morg, get a valve king amp.

I may eventually get that amp, but it's a little pricey to be investing in right off the bat. My brother has an amp that he is going to donate to me for the time being. When I progress some then I will be looking toward new equipment.

Started messing with the guitar tonight since I finally got an amp.

I've realized just how small my hands are, but I'm trying to work my way around it. I messed with a few major chords. I learned Smoke On The Water, one of my fav Modest Mouse songs, and I've almost got down the intro to Sweet Child O Mine. I'm not saying anything sounds great now, but I'm learning them a lot quicker than I thought I would. I can already see how I'm going to put many hours into this thing because I get addicted to things when I'm not very good at them simply to say that I can do it. There are many fun and frustrating days coming this summer. At least it gives me something to do. Cool

Practice makes perfect, Munky! Unfortunately you can not learn playing the guitar overnight! I found that out too. In fact, I am still learning after many years. Maybe my hands are just too big for the guitar... Rolling Eyes Wink

Haha. It's funny to think about some of the greatest guitarist of all time still learning new things about the guitar. That's what makes it so great though. There's no end to what can be done.

Also the only good thing I can see about all the GH playing is that my fingers aren't tiring out. My knuckles aren't getting sore at all because I went through that phase when I moved up to expert. I was having trouble when I tried an acoustic guitar awhile back, but that doesn't seem to be much of a problem anymore.
