OK KIDS,

LIVE ON THE LAKE MOST WEEKENDS AND ALOT OF EVES.

HOW CAN I TAKE A GOOD NIGHT SHOT W/ LIGHTS ON THE WATER WITH OUT THE BLUR?

I HAVE A OK DIGITAL CAMERA...

A tripod is the key to eliminate blurring when shooting with no flash in a dark setting. That and manual shutter speed settings so you can have a VERY slow shutter speed. The automatic setting on your camera is going to probably do a so-so job.

I agree with Eagle... If you want a rock steady photo, a tripod is the only way to go... The human body can not hold perfectly still while standing, or even sitting... It is constantly shifting to maintain balance...

And the slow shutter speed is required in any low/no light conditions... You may have to play with the settings, since even in almost total darkness, it is possible to make a shot look like it was taken in broad daylight with too slow of a shutter speed...

you can rest your camera on/against anything if you don't have a tripod; car, fence, tree.

a monopod is a good investment too, you can also do the elbows against the rib cage, exhale, and shoot then much like the steady sniper shot in cod.

Thats how I got this with low light no flash ..look at the microphone...it's pretty sharp on the original negative....lost some clarity on the flatbed but still looks like theres some detail
