McAfee Site Advisor for Firefox |
|
|
This is a GREAT addon for Firefox 3 that will add a little button to your status bar giving you advice about web sites you visit. The button is green if a site is ok, and turns red when you go to one that is evil.
You can click on the button to get more details about why McAfee hates the site...
McAfee maintains an extensive database of web sites which install malware or other nastiness when you visit them or download from them. This database is constantly updated by users of the addon, as you can click the button and "send feedback" if you run into problems with a site McAfee didn't already know about.
Firefox 3 already has some of the functionality built in, as if a site is known to attack your computer as soon as you load the page, Firefox will just flat out block you from going there. This adds more protection by advising you if there are problems with things you download from a site, or if a site causes problems only after you click on a button on the site or take some other action.

That's nice, I am also really liking the ad-block addon.. sometimes those java ads that pop up crash Firefox, and it's nice to block them before that happens.
