BROOK, Ind. (AP) - Police say a car crashed into a golf cart being driven on a rural state highway in northwestern Indiana, killing the cart's driver.
The crash happened Friday afternoon on Indiana 16 near the Newton County town of Brook, about 40 miles north of Lafayette.
The county Sheriff's Department says an 89-year-old woman driving on the highway ran into the golf cart that was in the westbound lane. The driver of the cart, 87-year-old Robert Corbett of Brook, was pronounced dead at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer.
Police say the driver of the car suffered minor injuries and the crash remains under investigation.
