Nice Wish I could do that But it is way too expensive here.The flying school is only 20 minutes away too.

It's not too bad here. You can go take an "explore flight" for about $60, which is where you go up with an instructor for 1/2 hour or so and you get to fly around a bit and get the feel of it. The instructor does the takeoff and landing (grin). This is really fun even if you don't take it any further.

Then it's about $200 for ground school, $120 an hour or so for about 15-20 hours of instruction before you solo, and another 10-15 hours for cross-country and navigation training to get your full license. There is several hundred dollars of crap you have to buy (headset, gadgets and gizmos, maps, etc). So all in all it's about $5,000 to $7,000 spread over however long you want to take to get your ticket. You can do one lesson a week, or more, or less... I took about 6 months to get mine, so the money didn't hurt that much.

Once you have your ticket you can go to just about any airport and rent a plane (has to be more or less the same class of plane you learned on) for $100 an hour and have at it...
