I'll assume you mean the presidents after the ratification of the Constitution.
George Washington
John Adams
Thomas Jefferson
James Madison
James Monroe
John Q. Adams
Andrew Jackson
Martin Van Buren
William Henry Harrison
Anyone before that would have been presidents of the Continental Congress.

don't the articles of confederation and perpetual union have something to do about when the untied states actually became the "united states" ..
neice and nephew are highschoolers now..

Yeah, without google'ing I would have no idea who the "presidents" were during the "Articles of Confederation" period. Has a lot to do with the fact that they were leaders of a pretty much useless and powerless central government.
