I when to my dads house today and saw him listening to the radio in a way I have never seen him look before. After the song that was play ended he went about working as usual. I asked him what he was doing , he looked at me and said "Some songs just touch your heart." In my short life I've never felt more connected to my father before. Don't ask me why I have no idea, but it sure felt good..

Great song... Guess I would date myself if I said it was a favorite of mine when it was released...

Not that I know of. The most popular remake was by a group called Frijid Pink
Actually it's an old folk tune from the 1920's, which was recorded a few times as a blues song on obscure 1920's and 1930's records. Then it was forgotten until Bob Dylan recorded it on his first album, still as a folk / blues song. The Animals (Eric Burdon) heard it played by some local group in a club in 1964, and reworked it as a folk / ROCK song, and released it. It went to number one in the US and UK. It is often credited as the first folk / rock song and a groundbreaker...
Frijid Pink did their version in I think 1971 or 1972, and it was again a huge hit.

| i got a old memory to this song, i was sitting beside my dad back in like 91-92 i was playing with some blocks, and he was listening to this song.
