For one, I would crank it up, not down. Make sure your bios settings are good... if not, reboot the bios and change all your settings again (mobo bios).

Do a complete uninstall of your vid drivers. Then go to your graphics card makers website and download the drivers they suggest for the card. I use an eVga card, and always use the ones they recommend for the card whether it's a beta or not.

Also check your RAM timings in your bios as well... crank them up to their specs if you haven't already.

I know you were having issues with CoD2 from the discussions on vent, so that is what my comment applies to:

With that card you should have all settings at the highest except for DX which should be in DX7. This is due to a bug in CoD2 and has nothing to do with your system.

Now considering that you tried many things and only got 20fps, I would suggest that you go to the card manufacurer's website and check out the forums. If you don't find anything listed, then make a post in those forums. Then you can get answers that are specific to your card, such as power requirements ect...

You might try a benchmark test to see if the card is the problem or is it only CoD2. Do you have the same issues with CoD4?

Have you tried creating new profiles in the games? You could have issues with the configs after changing cards, so a new profile might be a good idea. Especially if you make lots of changes to the config files like most of us do.

When having hardware issues I really like to find other PC's to test things with. Do you know someone that you could try the card in their PC?

That's the best ideas that I can think of. Good luck! Wink

Your best bet iwould be to delete your config_mp.cfg file and start over. There are a few "card specific" settings that COD2 creates in there, such as >>> seta sys_gpu "NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS" <<< (copied from my config file). If you install a different type of card, this and some of the other settings may cause issues. I usually reinstall almost all of my games when I swap out video, sound and other major cards...

I agree that you should always delete your config_mp.cfg files for all COD games when you install a new motherboard, cpu or graphics card.
