REDIRECT WORKING - NEW MAPS AND MOD!!! |

We have the redirect problem fixed on COD5 and are now running the first few new custom maps out there and the ACE mod.
Couple of notes on the ACE mod:
You will automatically rank up to level 65, but then you will need to jump out and set up your classes again one time. They will persist after that.
You can heal by holding down the "use" key if you are injured and have picked up some health packs from dead bodies.
You can search dead bodies for nades, weapons etc by crouching next to them and holding down the "melee" key.
I have the speed turned up a bit, let me know (too fast, too slow...)

I just downloaded the mods and maps, had a quick peek and I like the speed very much!

Awesome MOD, speed is just fine... Any chance of getting a 10,000 round clip for the Thompson???

Um... no.
I am working with Dupont to see about changing the "reload speed" to a BIT faster (maybe 20-25% faster) for the weapons and I am considering boosting the power of all the rifles and submachine guns a bit so you don't have to empty a whole clip into someone to kill them and to make the KAR and other bolt-action guns a bit more deadly.
We won't be boosting things to unrealistic levels. There won't be "instant reload" or "insane firing rates" or "nuclear nades" like on Server 3. I know a lot of folks just love the way Server 3 plays, and that's cool. Dupont did a great job and I know it's a lot of fun. However, it isn't (IMHO) what's best for the clan as a whole given that we are running just one COD5 server and it needs to, as much as possible, be an instance that everyone wants to play on. I have no illusions about pleasing everyone...

The speed can be a bit disconcerting on really small maps, like the one we have now where everyone just basically runs around in one small courtyard with a couple of buildings. On medium to large maps though, it's nice not to move like a slug trying to get from your spawn point to the action. We will continue to watch it and find the "sweet spot".
You will find that you need to tune your "melee" skills with the knife/bayonet as while the movement speed is increased the "melee" speed is still the same. At first you will miss "poons" that you would have gotten with the old speed.

An increase in speed also means you jump further too. Getting out of the maps is then easier for the cheaters.
