LOL...Dream on my young, spamhappy friend. At best they might offer 14 free days or an extra month added to your subscription.
But for some reason, I just can't see them giving back $$$$$$. IMHO.
Although I'm sure if you explained the situation to a manager he might give you your $$$ back!!
Or, at the very least, he would give you a can of Spam for the holidays!

Through all my years of Xbox Live, I've only seen in go down twice and those were both scheduled. Surely they will get it under control sooner or later.

My new gamertag is Cpt Raynor (maybe doesn't have a space I'll have to check...)
I only made a new XBL GT because:
1) I had too many inactives on my old friend's list. Easier to start fresh 
2) I still play my old Xbox games that AREN'T backwards compatible...yet. I also have some hardcore saves on a couple games...
3) It wouldn't let me transfer my old GT to my 360... :'(
