lol I was going to say 9.8 meters per second squared which is what the force of gravity is since avalanches fall vertically! Too much math involved for me to figure it out but it'd be interesting to see if that answer would equal 22.

Peaked my interest Killer.
9.8 m/s(squared), rounded up equal 22 mph (21.92 to be more accurate), but that is the rate of acceleration due to gravity. So when skydiving a person would increase his/her rate of decent by 22 mph per hour (35.4 kph for you metric users) each second!
I know, trivial information, but I was bored.
