Been playing the bass for about 2 years or more getting good 
PLay in a band also we have done 2 shows

Way to go! I played in a band myself (again, in the seventies... when I was a lot younger  ).

Well, yes and no.
In 1652 the Dutch (Jan van Riebeeck) "discovered" South Africa and it was declared a Dutch colony. Over the years the language changed into what it is today.

Ok, DB7, just saw in the thread "Who's who?" that you are originally from South Africa. Now that makes sense. I do understand Afrikaans too. It is very similar to Dutch. Nie waar nie?
