Crap my dad just called and said my mom was in a 3 car accident and she got trapped in the car and now she's in the hospital. She called my dad already so she's concious and whatnot so it doesn't sound like it's life threatening but they did put her in a neck brace for precautionary reasons. The irony of all this is that she was on her way to a visitation for her uncle who just died Sunday night from prostate cancer.

According to my brother she was cut up a bit which I suppose is normal. I'm sure the neck brace is normal to as a rear ender can cause some whiplash. I'm not sure all the details as I was eating dinner in the cafeteria when my dad called me. I guess the bright side is she called my brother who was there first and then she called my dad so if she's making phone calls she shouldn't have life threatening injuries. It's when you're unconcious things don't look to good.

My uncle was Hit by a Car a bunch of years back, he broke both his legs he is good now lol, but Accidents and hit and runs just suck

Wow last night at 9:30 there was a 70 car pileup!

If you happened to drive on Highway 169 near Edina or Hopkins anytime after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, you know that southbound was a mess.

The state patrol says a driver's mistake triggered a string of crashes that eventually involved an estimated 70 cars. The State Patrol believes moisture on the road, temperatures just below freezing, and a troublesome stretch of highway set off the pileup.

"I fell twice, I couldn't stand up on the bridge decks, it was that slippery," State Patrol Lieutenant Chuck Walerius recalled. "There's a slight curve in the roadway right there, plus you're coming up over a slight incline and you don't see it until you're right on top of it. And that's what created the problems."

Two people were seriously injured, apparently when they got out of their disabled cars and tried to re-direct traffic. Another out of control vehicle struck them, throwing a 37-year-old Minneapolis woman and a 47-year-man off the bridge to the frozen ground below. Both are improving and are expected to survive.

Many drivers were just happy to have escaped with aches and damaged cars.

While the patrol is amazed that more people weren't injured, they are pessimistic about ever finding out what led to all the twisted metal on the quarter mile stretch of highway.

"Somebody did something wrong, driver error, to cause that chain reaction to happen," Walerius said. "Who that is, we have no idea, and we'll never know."

What happened in your Uncle's crash besides the injuries? Was it a head on collision?

it fractured his skull also in a few places, and broke his legs and 2 ribs.

Super Sucked cause it was like his first week back from a Peace Keeping Mission in the Congo.

He is good now, but he gets black outs some times

My bro just called with an update. I asked and received the full details on what happened. My mom was on County Road I and the road makes a sharp right turn that you take at like 15mph and it goes uphill. It's right next to the military arsenal. Well there is a side street up the road and there was a car waiting to make a left turn into the street and there was a 2nd car stopped behind him and a 3rd car ran into the middle one who ran into the guy making the turn and since his wheels were turned to make the left turn he spun across and hit my mom and she went into the ditch and the car flipped over a few times. My bro rode with her in the ambulance and I guess my mom asked him if he had her sunglasses with. The car is totaled. She isn't cut anywhere and it doesn't appear as if she broke anything. They said she may have blacked out during it but they won't know until they are done doing tests. The car she was driving was a Cadillac SRX and according to my bro the roof isn't even caved in from the roll.
