A few pics of our trip ... |
|
|
I thought I'd share a few pictures I snapped of our trip to Cincinnati, DC, NYC, Niagara Falls last week. We left on Monday and got back home on Friday. It was a whirlwind trip by car so my parents and aunt could see the country and hit as many states as possible. We probably spent more than 30 hours driving but it was worth it.
Cincinnati, Ohio - Took my folks and aunt to Cinci, an international food store, into Kentucky, a shopping mall and a few other places.
Downtown Cinci
Paddle Steamer
Washington, D.C. - We went to all the traditional attractions like Arlington Cemetary, The White House, The Capitol, etc. and also managed to squeeze in the Air and Space Museum and the Museum of the American Indian. Man did we walk a lot. Also had a few hot dogs with everything on it.
The Washington Memorial reflecting in the Tidal Basin
The Lincoln Memorial
The Washington Monument
The Jefferson Memorial
The Capitol
Arlington Cemetary - My third time here and every time I'm moved ...
Bush's Palace ... uuuhh ... The White House
New York, New York - Manhattan in a day. We took the Staten Island Ferry to get there and back and then got all day bus and subway tickets. It was my first time there as well and I wanted myself, my folks and aunt to experience a taste of everything - walking, bus ride, subway, ferry, the people, food and scenery - it was great!!!
Staten Island Ferry
Statue of Liberty
Manhattan Island, New York
Work at Ground Zero
And for the ladies ... the Manhattan Mall
Empire State building
Times Square
Central Park
Jaden on my back dressed warmly for the ferry trip back to Staten Island from Manhattan
Niagara Falls, New York - we also crossed over into Canada for a few moments. As always this was awesome. My aunt and parents were speechless and rightly so. We made the trip up stream to Horseshoe Falls on the Maid of the Mist and as soon as the first spray hit little Jaden she started crying and did not stop until we were halfway back to shore - shame!
American Falls to the left, Horseshoe Falls in the distance and Niagara Falls Canada on the far banks
Baby Jaden in her rain coat on her way to the boat
Maid of the Mist
American Falls
God bless America
It was a great trip and I highly recommend it to those who haven't been to these places.
America is a beautiful country. Be proud of it and fight to keep it this way.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, Bogey. Your daughter is a real doll baby (I'm assuming Jaden is a girl's name).

Those pics were amazing. You had some great angles of some sites I hadn't really seen a lot of. I would love to travel to a lot of those places some day. Thanks for sharing!

Great stuff DB - your daughter is a cutie. Looks like you had a great trip - next time, stop in Pittsburgh.
I've been in the trade center buildings 5 or 6 times and it's still hard to believe those massive buildings are gone.

Very nice pictures, DB7! I went to all of these places myself over the past two years, except for Niagara Falls. That is why I probably missed these three girls....
Looks like you had a great trip! Thanks for sharing!
