and now yet another issue that I'm having is I hooked up my 27 inch LCD and I keep getting a blue screen of death. There are no drivers needed for this screen and none provided by Syntax. I have tried hooking it up both VGA and DVI with no luck, I can log on in safe mode and the display is fine. I've used this before but, my computers been off for 6 months any ideas?

I have a 32" widescreen connected by HDMI at monitor and DVI on video card. I use a monster brand HDMI to DVI cable. My monitor only works in one resolution; 1280 x 720 at 60 Hz. If I try any other setting, I get the same problem you have. It took me a few times to figure that out the first time.

Also, my monitor did not come with a driver. After several months with the default, I found out the manufacturer of my monitor had a driver I could down load. I down loaded the driver and installed, but it didn't really make any difference to anything that I could notice.

I don't know if this is what you are dealing with, but I thought it might give you something to look into. Good luck!

Try updating your video card's drivers. You might have a corrupt driver that is having a fit at a higher resolution. Just a guess though.

Check what the naitive resolution of your monitor is and set for that as a starting point. Also, as what was already suggested, check for updates to video card drivers.
