Car Speakers |
|
|
Ok, so I'm getting my car in a couple months(hell yeah!) and I was wondering if anyone can tell me a good place to purchese some nice speakers. I don't know s**t about speakers. It can be over the internet, or post a store that you know of in person.
Also, will I have to have someone intall them or can I do it myself?
I know that you have to havbe a "Case" or whatever to put them in, what's the deal with that?

go to someone who specifically deals in aftermarket audio. avoid the big-box stores at all costs.
you can spend a little ($500) or a lot ($25,000), depending on how much noise you want. any local shop can build a box... they are just wood and automotive carpet. you could get stuff fiberglassed in a custom and painted enclosure.
most installs on the cheap get you running a new head unit, an amp, 2 door speakers and a small sub-woofer.
remember, the more crap you put in, the more people are going to want to steal it. fact.

Just a side note, music heard more than 50' from a car is ticketable by the police. Also loud music can distract you from the on coming emergency vehicles, which can create another world of poopy. Just a friendly reminder for you.

Your first car with a stereo??? Get your first few sets of speakers from wal-mart or k-mart, since you'll probably just blow them any way. Might as well save your money.

No fines here for loud music, you just get arrested You should see the arrest report that is posted in the newspaper: drugs, theft, loud music violation.

Wish they'd do that here... .Nothing worse than some inconsiderate punk driving by my house after my 6yr old is in bed rattling my windows... On second thought, don't arrest them, just shoot them and their parents...
